Winter Garden / Op Art

project overview
The Winter Garden / Op Art pattern collection was inspired by the visual world and distinctive stylistic elements of Op Art. During the design process, I drew inspiration from the geometric patterns, repetition, rhythm, optical contrasts, and the illusion of movement characteristic of the movement, blending these with my own illustrative style. I retained the original Winter Garden theme the atmosphere of botanical gardens, botanical motifs, and the distinctive architectural structures of greenhouses but reimagined it within a new visual system using the formal tools of Op Art. The plant forms and architectural details have become more geometric and rhythmic, while repetition, shifts in scale, and contrasts create a dynamic, optical effect. The collection is composed of hero, secondary, and blender patterns, which form a system that can be combined with one another. The goal of the design was to reinterpret the original theme within a contemporary pattern universe where the organic forms of nature and the geometric order of the built environment are connected through the dynamic visual language of Op Art.
