Built and Natural Environments

the pattern collection titled the built and natural environment explores the visual connection between nature’s organic structures and architecture’s geometric systems. during the design process, architectural details, urban structures, plant forms, and natural patterns served as inspiration, which i transformed into my own illustrations and abstract motifs. by layering these various visual elements, a pattern system was created in which organic forms and geometric structures interact. the collection is composed of hero, secondary, and blender patterns, resulting in distinctive main patterns alongside more subtle complementary surfaces. the goal of the project was to create a cohesive collection that reinterprets the dialogue between nature and the built environment through contemporary surface patterns. photographer: ádám zsíros model: anna winkler
