Leaving Traces

The Leaving Traces project focuses on the examination of the gestures and surface structures created during the process of making hand pressed prints. Using hand made printing tools, I captured various textures, rhythms, and movements, which later gave rise to repeating surface patterns. The aim of the work was to explore how a single, spontaneous imprint can become a visual system and a usable pattern.
